The activities of academic studies of Estonian language and culture abroad (hereinafter EKKAV) is a continuous teaching of the Estonian language and culture in universities outside Estonia, including its support activities in Estonia and elsewhere. Study centre abroad is a division operating in a university abroad which carries out the teaching that is directly subject to the scope of the EKKAV, or a memory institution (libraries, archives, etc.) outside Estonia, which contains study assets and information assets about Estonia used in studies abroad.

The target group of the EKKAV is:
  • students studying in universities abroad;
  • local opinion leaders and experts as the image makers of Estonia and promoters of mutual relations;
  • enthusiasts of the Estonian language and culture worldwide.
