Smart specialisation scholarship

The smart specialisation scholarships are paid to the BA and MA students, who study a smart specialisation specialities and PhD students of Estonian universities who conduct a research related to the smart specialisation growth areas. These scholarships are administred by Estonian universities. For more relevant information, please contact universities directly.

Amount: 
BA and MA students 160 euror per month, PHD students 422 euros per month.

Dora Plus 1.1

Dora Plus 1.1 or short study visists scholarships enables participation in the research conferences, seminars, courses or other learning and research related activity abroad. Dora Plus short study visits can last for up to 30 calendar days. The scholarship can cover the costs of accommodation, travel and subsistence on the basis of fixed unit prices only. The participation fee of the event is reimbursed on the basis of actual costs. 

Amount: 
Support is paid according to the target country (maximum 2000 euros).

Dora Plus 1.2

Dora Plus 1.2 supports PHD student mobility from Estonian universities to a foreign university or research facility. Mobility can last 1-10 months. Living and transport allowance are covered.

Estophilus

The Archimedes Foundation offers scholarships to holders of a doctoral degree or Master’s or Doctoral students who are citizens of a foreign state and are studying at a university (non-Estonian) abroad, to write a research paper on an Estonia-related topic or to gather material for it.

Compatriots Programme

Applications for the Compatriots Programme are accepted in 2 categories: Study scholarship and language scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to support the Estonian and formal studies of young expat Estonians in Estonian public universities, state institutions of applied higher education and vocational institutions.

Living allowance 350 euros per month. Transport allowance is paid twice a year depending on the target country.

Kristjan Jaak part-time study

Support will be provided for the studies with a duration of one (1) to five (5) months as an exchange student at a foreign university or research institution in the framework of the postgraduate studies in Estonia. The support can be used for visiting of lectures; for individual work; for internships; for consultations with specialists in one’s field, etc.

Amount: 
The amount of the scholarship depends on the target country. Transportation and living costs are covered.

The amount of scholarship is dependent on the level of study and duration of mobility.

Students with special needs

The aim of the scholarship is to support students with disabilities, who study in Estonian higher education institutions. Scholarship is available up to 10 months per academic year.

Amount: 
Support is from 60 to 510 euros per month (depending on the disability)

Dora Plus Action 2

The goal of this action is to support foreign Master’s and Doctoral students studying in Estonian universities. Support is offered to foreign doctoral students in full-time studies until the end of the nominal time of their studies and to guest doctoral students for short-term teaching and research work in Estonia (1-10 months). Foreign Master’s students can only obtain a grant when studying in Estonia full-time and for one academic year at a time.

Amount: 
350 euros per month for foreign Master`s students and 422 euros per month for foreign Doctoral students
