Scholarships for summer and winter language courses

Guidelines

The EKKAV scholarship for attending Estonian language and culture summer/winter courses can be applied for by all the international university students interested in the Estonian language and culture who are studying or have previously studied Estonian at the university abroad. The applicant has to be enrolled at a foreign university at the time of applying (BA, MA or PhD student).

The scholarship is directly transferred to the university organizing the summer/winter courses and it covers course fee, accommodation and optionally certain events in the cultural programme. Travel expenses have to be paid by the grantee him-/herself.

 

 

For 2020 autumn application round, we offer 20 free places to Tallinn University Estonian language ONLINE winter school January 11-January 22, 2021. These are real time video classes in Zoom. See also: https://winterschool.tlu.ee/estonian-language-a1-2-and-higher-online-edition/.

Within the grant, it is possible to participate in an additional online course (in English): Introduction to Estonia and Finno-Ugric Cultures and Nations January 9-January 23, 2021. The scholarship application along with the required annexes are submitted electronically: http://www.archimedes.ee/taotlused. Required application documents are: (1) formal application and (2) recommendation letter from the applicant’s Estonian lecturer.

 

APPLICATION DEADLINES:

  • Deadline for Estonian language online winter school scholarship is November 2, 2020. The application round will be opened on October 5.

Call for applications will be opened approximately one month before the application deadline.

 

The grantees are selected by the EKKAV board within one month after the application deadline.
