Q: What should I submit for a confirmation of admission from the host institution (students only)?
A: You need to submit your admission documents according to the regulations of host institution. After submission you would get a confirming e-mail. This e-mail would be enough at the application phase, but you can also submit confirmation of admission if you already have one.
Q: How I will get the confirmation letter for participation in summer courses?
A: You need to register for the course. After this you would get an e-mail (automatic reply) that you have been registered for the course. You need to submit the letter together with the application form for summer course and all other supporting documents.
Q: Who can write the recommendation letter and what should it entail (researchers only)?
A: The letter of recommendation should be written by your direct superior from home institution and it should indicate how your work in Estonia relates to the academic activities of your home institution. You would need to scan it for uploading.
Q: What should a study/research plan entail?
A: The study or research plan is a list of activities that you plan to carry out during your stay in Estonia. It could be a short description of your learning goals, subjects that you would like to follow or timetable for individual work.
Q: Do my prior results and grades have any effect on the decision of scholarship?
A: The quality of application (i.e. thoroughness of the motivation letter; quality of application: clear objectives, work plan, expected results etc) has the greatest effect on the decision. However, for exchange/credit mobility and short courses also the earlier results of applicants are evaluated. It has the greatest weight when the applicants apply for degree mobility, but have already started their studies in Estonia. Ranking of applicants based on their average grades from Estonian university are then used.
Q: I am not a student now, can I apply for the scholarship for the summer courses?
A: The scholarship for short courses is available for BA, MA or PhD level students of higher education institutions abroad who are studying actively at the time of application and have been doing so for at least a year.
