Guidelines of the Compatriots scholarship programme

The aim of the scholarships offered by the Compatriots Programme is to support the language and degree studies of young expatriate Estonians in Estonian higher education institutions and vocational training centres.

  • The study scholarship is available for students wishing to enroll to the study programmes taught in Estonian language. If the candidate's command of Estonian language is insufficient for studying, the applicant can apply for a language scholarship before taking up the degree studies. The Compatriots Programme does not support studies in languages other than Estonian.
  • The language scholarship is available to participate in an intensive Estonian language course at the University of Tartu. The period of support is 10 months.
